I just attended Ray’s 40hr course. Two years later I was surprised to see how much of it I had retained. That is a true testament to the simple yet very effective techniques that are taught during this course. I would highly recommend this course for anyone in law enforcement. Get with your command staff and have this added to your training budget.
Ethan Haworth –
This training really helped improve my confidence since I haven’t had defensive tactics training since the academy. I think it’s the perfect course to add to a DT program or start one from scratch with this knowledge. Also the instructors are incredible and break down the techniques to help you understand it.
Their teaching techniques can help someone who is already an instructor in another topic become even better. 10/10 would recommend.
Andy Bible –
Excellent class for officers of all ages and skill levels. Ray has decades of experience in teaching defensive tactics, and breaks all techniques down to make it easy to retain. This class not only makes you more proficient in defensive tactics, but it teaches you how to become an effective instructor. With an emphasis on jiu jitsu and other martial arts, the techniques taught are much more applicable than other DT courses taught. I highly recommend all officers to attend this class.
Chase Ledbetter –
As a 25 year veteran of law enforcement I can say this is by far one of the best programs I have ever been through. The instructors are very patient, and break the moves down so everyone can understands.
Patrick E Williams –
The course is very insightful and capable with persons of any gender and weight. Attending from an agency with no DT, this course has been an eye opener for numerous past encounters that these techniques could have been applied.
The Co-instructor is very helpful and energetic, 10/10 would recommend Wingman again. Jason was great too!
Kristopher Wright –
I’ve taken a lot of different instructor courses for DT training. This class is by far the most productive one I’ve experienced for providing good skills and teaching methods. Top notch.
Jeffrey Henson –
Amazing course! Necessary for any law enforcement officer!
Riley Watkins –
The course breaks things down step by step and makes clear all the steps. Different techniques for different levels that can be used by everyone.
Chris Schott –
Very interesting and informative. Great skills that are easy to learn regardless of skill level.
Kurtis Zigrye –
This course breaks down each technique to the simplest ways anyone can grasp the concept on how to apply in the real world application. Highly recommend to attend and promote not only people from your own agency, but others as well to attend.
Aaron Porras –
Easily the most practical and applicable course I’ve taken a part of . I recommend it to anyone looking for DT instructor credentials .
Aaron Huddleston –
This is a great course for Law Enforcement. This is a complete system that works in the real world. It does not involve complex movements or techniques. It utilizes low risk high reward moves that benefits the officer. Ray is a phenomenal instructor. He explains the movements in detail and breaks them down. Through out the course Ray is continuously explaining principles and concepts about both the system and use of force. Ray’s passion about combatives and the need for improvement in the LE community is what helps drive home the importance of this course. Ray does a great job of not only teaching you the techniques but also how to teach them. I highly recommend this course for any department looking to for a better system to implement in their defensive tactics. This gives a new perspective on what the purpose of combatives in the LE profession is for and how to utilize them in the real world.
Gage Stephenson –

This class shows you a lot of things you can apply out on the field. Everything that is taught in this class prepares you for some of the worst situations
Tim Stewart –
This is hands down the best way to teach officers how to respond to aggression. The methods and concepts are simple to teach, so they will be simple for your officers to remember on the streets. I cannot recommend this course enough, and hope I have an opportunity to take more of their courses in the future.
Cameron Villines –
What an amazing class! This class will replace the current “arrest and control” class for our regional academy. Very simple techniques that will go a long way and make a world of difference in LE Response to aggression. Highly recommend this class to any use of force instructor. Great system to base your class around.
Dan Arsenault –
This course is broken down into simple techniques that build off each other starting on day one, including improving your own mindset. Ray challenges the class on Use of Force options and opens your thoughts on different options. This class provides it all: education, confidence, training, and bumps and bruises! Great class and thank you for the skillset Ray! I’m excited to share the techniques and mindset with the rest of our agency.
Mark Dennis –
This course presented techniques that officers can actually use while policing. I would highly recommend this course to any officer who wants to stay safe and have control of their suspect.
Dan Armbruster –
Defiantly worth it! This program is definitely useful and easy to retain. Thank you Ray
Phil Holmes –
I do not have a background in ground fighting or wrestling. This course was full of common sense and very informative. The instructor didn’t talk over my head and he was able to explain the techniques in simple ways that made sense to me. I would highly recommend this course for a department that is looking to improve their defensive tactics program.
Keaton Zarr –
Class was taught well and had lots of good practical content.
CPL. Josh Long –
Amazing course. Ray is a top notch instructor. Take the bumps, bruises and get the training to take back to your officers that could possibly help save lives. It’s not only about the techniques it’s the mindset.
Keith Tamborelli –
